The Vulnerability of Creativity

As I look ahead to 2023 and what the year has in store for Anthea (which includes an exciting new product launch! Stay tuned…) I feel compelled to share some reflections on what 2022 brought to my life and to Anthea.

It has been one full year since I departed my day job and committed fully to Anthea Skincare. I started this company 10 years ago—it was a one-woman passion project then, it is a one-woman business now. Leaning into Anthea and watching my community grow as a result brings me boundless joy.

This journey continues to be a beautiful unfolding of the unknown, intertwined with the familiar flow of a lifelong passion. Anthea is at once an old friend and a new lover. At times I linger in the comfort of creating mainstay products like Balance Serum and Rose Simple Cream—bestsellers that have been with Anthea since the start. Other times I am intoxicated by the thrill of finessing a new formula into its final form and sharing it for the first time with you—like the Elderberry Elixir and Rosehip Bright Mask, launched and loved in 2022.

The one constant—the thread woven throughout the relationships I maintain with each Anthea product—is the vulnerability of creativity. The magic of every serum, cream and balm that leaves my studio and finds its way to your home is rooted in the mountain forests and high desert plains of Idaho.

The essence of each Anthea product was extracted, by me, from the wilds of my Rocky Mountain home and alchemized into unique formulas that work transformative magic on the skin. Each new batch is its own creation from that season’s harvest—I recall who was harvesting with me, the weather on that day, and how the plants felt in my hands. That high vibrational energy is an intrinsic part of every ounce of Anthea.

This creation process is deeply personal to me.
It is my reverence for nature encapsulated in a cream. Sharing this expression of love with you—friends, established clients, people around the country whom I will likely never meet—is a beautifully vulnerable experience. My hope is that when you make Anthea a part of your self-care ritual, you feel the wild beauty captured in each drop.

It is my honor to share this botanical alchemy with you.
